How to identify the quality of Quartz Stone Slab?

Quartz is hard–it's definitely similar to granite in that respect–but it has a few differences as well. The resins and polymers used to create quartz countertops makes them completely nonporous, which means they should be impervious to stains.

Quartz is also scratch and chip-resistant, since its polymers and resins give it a little more flexibility than natural stone.

As far as being 'green' building materials, both are considered to have low carbon emissions during their manufacturing processes.

Look

Good surface finish says good stain resistance.Using marking pen to test it, if the mark can wipe off easily, that shows high stain resistance.

Scratch

Using steel knife to check quartz hardness. Good quartz will leave a black lines while the inferior quartz will leave a white line for low hardness.

Fire

Quartz is heat-resistant, no influence under 300°C. The inferior will be bented and charred. So you can test it by a lighter or a lit cigarette.

Acid

Pouring a spoon of white vinegar on the quartz surface. If appears little bubbles, that is fake quartz for the calcium carbonate produce chemical reaction with the vinegar.
