Is quartz stone better than granite, benefits of quartz versus granite?

Quartz is actually stronger than granite because it has no veins. Granite or granite cannot be broken under strong thermal action. It is generally not damaged by hot objects placed directly on the stone.

Composition
Granite is a very hard stone and 100 percent natural. It’s mined from quarries all around the world, cut down to a manageable size, and then polished to a fine finish.
Quartz is slightly different in that it is not 100 percent natural. Instead, countertops are manufactured using 95 percent ground natural quartz and 5 percent polymer resins.

Appearance
Granite comes in many different colors and patterns due to the way it’s formed. The one advantage that granite has over an engineered stone is that every granite slab is slightly different in mineral pattern and color, meaning that your countertop will be unique.
Quartz countertops, as an engineered product, are more uniform in appearance, though many colors and unique patterns are available, including forms that do not resemble granite at all.

Price & Cost
Pricing for both types of countertop varies because both are sourced overseas. All of these products are container-shipped across oceans, and this is dependent on petroleum prices. Tariffs and other factors can also affect pricing.

Environmentally-Friendly
Granite countertops require quarrying out of the earth.
Since quartz is engineered, it can be more environmentally-friendly than granite if you use regionally manufactured stone and local fabricators. This cuts down on the distance the material needs to be transported.

Maintenance and Durability
There is a decided advantage here to quartz over granite, though both materials are very durable. Granite is a relatively porous stone that requires sealing upon installation, then periodic sealing on an ongoing basis. And granite slabs may have inherent flaws that make them prone to cracking.  
Quartz, on the other hand, does not require sealing, thanks to the resins used in the fabrication of the slabs; and the material is uniform throughout, which means it rarely cracks.
